Since sexual orientation inclination guarantees that ladies in most work spots will be under investigation and esteemed not genuine, diverted or even unpredictable on the off chance that they are arranged as phoning in debilitated time and again. As my sister-in-law Bernadette would state, No phony atitis. While there is no legitimate order at the government, state, area or city level for paid wiped out leave, new laws in Arizona, proposition in Maryland and authorized enactment in the City of Chicago and somewhere else are creating a ruckus. A few organizations bump days off, excursion days and different days off all together into took care of time without separating what is what.In Maryland, another bill is getting pushback and making bosses distraught, agreeing toCarroll County Times.According to the bill text of HB1, all organizations with in excess of 15 representatives are required to give five paid days off a year once the worker has been on the finance 106 days. Except if you are infectious, don't phone in wiped out the day of a major introduction, meeting or significant occasion at work. You may recoup, yet your notoriety may not. Without a doubt before 9 a.m. address somebody on the telephone about your nonattendance and follow the organization convention. Tell the clerical specialist, your chief, your collaborator by telephone, phone message and email on the off chance that you have to. You don't need anybody searching for you and calling to see where you are. Furthermore, unquestionably answer your telephone on the off chance that a coworker calls to beware of you. Judith Ohikuare composes inRefinery29, Generally, workers should utilize the organization favored strategy for phoning in wiped out, says Edward Yost, a HR colleague at theSociety for Human Resource Management. Numerous organizations explicitly note in their composed approach that a representa tive must talk legitimately to their administrators as opposed to leaving a phone message or sending an email message. A few organizations and administrators will lean toward a book legitimately to the director. I would urge representatives to ask their chiefs which strategy is liked and agree to that requirement.Be obscure on the off chance that you should, however be honest.Do not devise a falsehood. Try not to state you had food contamination on the off chance that you don't. Census Bureau A New Trend in the Housing Market
Census Bureau A New Trend in the Housing Market Mom, Dad, Iâm Home! In many parts of the United States today, adults are moving back into their aging parentsâ home, motivated by the economic realities of post-recession, as well as by a resurgent sense of family. Itâs a developing demographic phenomenon that has social scientists interested and real estate professionals excited. A recent Pew study has revealed that 40 percent of adults between the ages 25 and 29 currently live with their parents because of economic difficulties. But moving back in with Mom and Dad has benefits other than financial. The obvious one is that the aging parents get to be taken care of in their sunset years at home by their loved ones and not in a nursing facility by strangers. As more and more parents of Baby Boomers enter retirement age, the need for healthcare and assisted living has proportionately gone up. No big surprise. The unexpected thing, however, is that the number of single-family multigenerational households has also increased, according to new surveys. Census Bureau records show that in the past decade, multigenerational homes soared by 30 percent. In New Jersey, for instance, about six percent of homes host more than one generation under a single roof. Itâs not just the Census Bureau that has taken notice of the trend; so has the real estate industry, which has given the trend a term all its own: bounce-back rooms. Lennar, a home builder based in New Jersey and the biggest in the industry, has already retooled some of its production to meet the new and increasing demand for bounce-back rooms. It is building models that have all the basic amenities (living space, bedroom, bathroom, a small kitchen complete with its own sink, a refrigerator and even a microwave), but designed to be contained within a home, calling it âa home-within-a-homeâ model. For convenience and some privacy, a separate entrance is built into each of them. Additionally, revamping your home can possibly increase its value in the market. The bounce-back rooms by home builders such as Lennar, of course, all comply with applicable regulations, no need for the potential home buyer to worry. But owners who are custom-building their own bounce-back rooms have to be mindful that their designs meet all the local building codes. Frequently, though, local boards resolve regulation-compliance issues to enable a family to accommodate its loved ones. Toll Brothers, another major home builder, like many in the industry, is optimistic that the industry is seeing a robust trend. Tom Gestite, a divisional president at Toll Brothers, noted that the trend is in fact now heading to seeing three generations living in the same house. âThe feedback weâre getting is that the other generation wants to still be part of the family action.â

Does Robert Half Has a Resume Writing Service Better Than a Resume Writer?
Does Robert Half Has a Resume Writing Service Better Than a Resume Writer? Is Robert Half to resume writing service better than a resume writer? This is a question that I get asked a lot from people who are searching for the best possible way to create a professional resume that will put them in the running for a good job. Before I answer this question, I want to outline why some people prefer a resume writer to one of the services out there that are available online. We will touch on why they prefer an HR professional to other forms of resume writing. For most people, it comes down to what the person is looking for in a person. An HR professional can help with this as well. A good resume writer has all the necessary skill sets and training to make a person who is trying to find a job as a standout candidate. If you are in the situation where you are getting ready to submit your resume to a company that has a hiring freeze in place, it is best to use a professional from Robert Half, Inc. A hiring freeze means that they are not going to be able to accept any new resumes. This is to help keep their business up and running. When you have applied for the same position twice or you don't have a long enough resume, this is the time to get a professional writing service to handle your resume for you.The problem most people face with hiring a service from Robert Half, Inc. is that the candidates they get are candidates who just need a little more work. This means that their service cannot guarantee them a good number of interview calls. I would recommend that you stick with the one person that is going to be most capable of crafting a great resume. If you want to eliminate this headache, why not hire a resume writer that will not only write your resume, but will also do some writing for you as well. If they are in the know about your professional history, they will be able to catch things that you may have overlooked in your writing of your resume. Many of the current and pr evious clients I have worked with from Robert Half, Inc. love the experience that I have given them to my resume writing services. They tell me how professional and well written the resumes have been. In fact, many people have come in to go over their new resume again to make sure that they have everything right and to see if they can be any better. If you would like a professional writer that is going to help you take your business to the next level, Robert Half, Inc. can help you get started. There are a lot of reasons that people who are a little more high profile than you would like to have a resume designed for them. You just have to take the plunge and see what all the hype is about.

4 Things That Are New Since Your Last Job Search ePropelr
4 Things That Are New Since Your Last Job Search ePropelr 4 Things That Are New Since Your Last Job Search If you suddenly find yourself back in the job market again after a long time, you should know that things have changedâ"a lot. Itâs no longer a straightforward process and this is good and bad for job seekers. Learning to navigate this unfamiliar territory can be intimidating and just plain frustrating. Here are 4 new things that you can expect to encounter in a 21st Century job search: Online ApplicationsThe very idea of applying online is enough to make many people run for the headache medicine. Online applications donât have a great reputation and thatâs because many times they donât do their job wellâ"but you can work the system! No matter how much you hate the idea of applying online, that application process is here to stay. The sooner you adapt, the better off youâll be. The key with online applications is you want to make sure your resume hits on some of the key words that are in the job description. Resume scanning software will search through the master database looking for resumes that have a certain number of keyword matches. If you havenât taken this into consideration, your resume may be missed. LinkedIn Itâs time to rethink how youâre looking for jobs. It takes a little digging to uncover great opportunities and your dream job is no longer going to appear in the classified section of the newspaper and it may not always be on the standard online job boards. You need to go where the career professionals areâ"this means LinkedIn. If youâre looking for a new job, you need a LinkedIn profile. Itâs a great networking tool and many businesses post jobs exclusively on LinkedIn. Make a list of some companies you want to target, follow them on LinkedIn, and look for updates. Then, make a habit to regularly check the careers page of their website for updates and new postings. Online AssessmentsPotential employers want to put your resume and experience to the test. Itâs no longer enough to have a degree in your field; youâve got to be the complete package. Donât be surprised (or offended) if youâre asked to take a selection of assessments to help your potential employer feel confident that youâre the right person for the job. With this in mind, itâs a good idea to do a little brush up to make sure youâre as up-to-date as possible in your field. This way youâll be prepared and will be more likely to score well. Listing Professional Experience on Your Resume
Listing Professional Experience on Your Resume Now that you have decided to rewrite your resume, you have the dreaded task of sitting down at the computer and pulling up either an ancient resume or starting with a blank document. Either way, you need to start thinking about your work experiences and what will be included in the Professional Experience section of your resume. Here are some tips to think outside of the normal work history that has been traditionally included in your past resume drafts. Tip #1 â" Yes, include your jobs, but not all of them. The firstâ"and most obviousâ"things to include in professional experience section are your actual paid jobs. Start with your most recent job first and then go backwards to your earlier positions. Remember that you donât have to go back more than 10-15 years with your job history. Not all of your past jobs are relevant towards your future career goals. Tip #2 â" Consider your volunteerism as professional experience. Just because itâs professional experience doesnât have to mean that it is paid experience. If you are looking for an accounting position and currently serve as a bookkeeper for a community-based organization, then include that information in your professional experience. It most definitely counts. Tip #3 â" Discuss leadership roles in professional organizations. If you have worked with cross-functional team members, led a comprehensive project, or generated a large amount of funds for a non-profit organization, then include that, too. These are skill-sets that can be utilized in almost any job that you apply toward in the future. Tip #4 â" Include internships (if they are fairly recent). If you are a new college graduate, it is highly likely that you wonât have a great deal of professional experience that directly relates to your degree field. However, you probably have at least one internship that you secured during your time in college. Consider adding your internship experience as professional experience â" just because it was early in your career doesnât mean it doesnât count. Tip #5 â" Focus on achievements. Perhaps one of the most important focuses in your professional history section should be on achievements and accomplishments. Whether it is your most recent job or your internship, think about the impact that you made with the organization and not just your responsibilities. Whenever possible, include information that discusses dollar amounts, percentages, and numbersâ"this always catches the readerâs eye. Remember that your professional history needs to focus on the relevant information that matters to a future employer. Itâs vital that you focus on achievements that demonstrate the success you brought to your previous employers. Still have questions about this section of your resume? How To Handle Being Fired On Your Resume
How To Handle Being Fired On Your Resume How To Handle Being Fired On Your Resume July 15, 2014 Just because you were let go from a job doesnt mean that you cant include the experience on your resume. Well explain how to turn a negative into a positive. Make a Resume in Minutes Resumes Dont Include Why You Were Fired or Quit Surprised? Dont worry, youre not alone. One of the most popular questions the experts at Resume Genius face on a regular basis is that of how to deal with being fired from a job or quitting a job on their resume. This seems like such a common problem weâve decided to create a simple guide to help job seekers understand how to deal with leaving their old jobs on their resume. The problem is all-to-common and goes something like: I was fired from my last jobâ Being fired from a job isnât necessarily indicative of being a bad worker or being an underperformer. In fact, the term âbeing let goâ is attached to an overly negative stigma from a resume expertâs perspective. There could be multiple reasons a âgoodâ employee may be fired. From poor management, office politics, and lack of leadership to simple downsizing, many job seekers who are looking for jobs are actually high caliber talent and should present themselves in just such a way. So just how does one go about creating a resume to reflect this all? The Wrong Approach: Including why you were fired under each position in your professional experience section is not only the incorrect place to state such information; it also overshadows the positive elements on your resume and reduces your chance at landing an interview. The Correct Approach: The resume is a place to detail achievements, skills and knowledge, not failures. Your resume should focus on the positive, up-selling yourself as an applicant. The place to explain your current situation and why you are applying to the position is actually in your cover letter, not in the resume itself. Resume Expert Tips Avoid using the word âfiredâ, as itâs probably the worst possible way to frame your leaving your last employer. Instead, try some of these phrases to describe your separation: âMutual beneficial separationâ âOutgrew my previous roleâ âEmployer downsizedâ âCompany restructuringâ âCost cuttingâ âDecided to go our separate waysâ âLeft on good termsâ âOur paths divergedâ âOur long-term goals differedâ Wording is so important in resume writing, as it can mean the different between a relatively positive impression and a negative, or skeptical impression at worse from hiring managers. Ultimately, itâs best not to focus on negatives when composing your resume. Instead, focus on the positives and leave any potential negatives for the interview where you can apply a âglass half fullâ mentality in how the questions are addressed. If you are applying for an entry-level job and the job application asks why you left your previous job avoid flat out saying you were âfiredâ and instead use some of the more positive synonyms mentioned previously. Never lie to try to cover up the source of a previous termination, as this only creates professional liabilities that could easily surface and be a detriment to your career later on. Itâs a bad idea to invest in building a history with a company when all of your achievements could easily be toppled because of an unnecessary lie. Remember, the job of the resume is to simply land you the interview, so donât worry about potential negatives and just build an attractive, interview-winning resume.

Targeting Cancer Drugs to 3D-Printed Tumors
Focusing on Cancer Drugs to 3D-Printed Tumors Focusing on Cancer Drugs to 3D-Printed Tumors Focusing on Cancer Drugs to 3D-Printed Tumors On the off chance that doctors knew ahead of time which prescription would most successfully focus on a patients disease, theyd quickly oversee it. That effectiveness could take out the extensive experimentation process specialists presently experience to locate the best enemy of disease medicate for every patient. To accomplish that, scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical Center are building up a method to 3D-print tumor models that can emulate the conduct of a tumor inside a people body. The objective is to quicken the improvement of customized hostile to malignancy drugs, says David Corr, one of the studys head examiners and a Rensselaer partner educator of biomedical designing. For You: 3D Printing Blooms in Biomedical The issue with a significant number of todays malignant growth medicines is that specialists dont know ahead of time whether a particular medication will focus on their patients tumors. They acquaint an enemy of disease sedate with a patient and afterward perform imaging and blood tests to check whether the medication has been useful. On the off chance that tumor malignant growth markers are low, the specialist keeps the patient on the medication. If not, they present another medication. One of the primary difficulties in growing new and viable malignancy medicines is the absence of sufficient tumor models that can copy in the lab how tumors may act in a particular individual.Prof. David Corr, Rensselaer Polytechnic Scientists at RPI and Albany Medical Center create 3D bioprinting and imaging methods to produce and dissect tumor models outside the body. Picture: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute One of the primary difficulties in growing new and viable malignancy medicines is the absence of sufficient tumor models that can copy in the lab how tumors may act in a particular individual, Corr says. To accomplish that, we need to not just grow new 3D bioprinting strategies to create tumor models with endorsed cell sythesis and engineering, yet in addition new imaging methods to picture how various medications interface with disease cells relying upon where they are situated inside these tumor models. To construct the tumor, specialists utilize a 3D printer to store living cells, which are implanted in an ink or gel to keep them alive, layer by layer. The material is then brooded in a cell culture that emulates human body conditions. After the tumor has been 3D printed, specialists would utilize the imaging method to break down the tumor while acquainting drugs with it. That would permit scientists to look at the capacity of medications to tie to malignant growth cells, says Margarida Barroso, a partner educator of atomic and cell physiology at Albany Medical College. Disease cells have explicit receptors, which are proteins that demonstration like recieving wires to which medications can be focused to prompt the destruction of tumors, Barroso says. Our imaging approach can identify the official of medications to those malignant growth recieving wires all through the tumor in its local condition. Specialists utilize the procedure to decide how well a medication really targets and ties to a tumors malignant growth cells to guarantee all disease cells are focused on and not only a little division. On the off chance that a medication didnt target and tie to all the malignancy cells, the doctor could rehash the examination utilizing an alternate medication. A medicine that effectively focused on and bound to all the malignant growth cells would be acquainted with the patient, Barroso says. The examination lines up with the universitys Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies, a gathering of specialists from over the establishment that tends to malignant growth through a frameworks based methodology. Complex sicknesses, for example, malignancy require a multifactorial methodology. This task is a case of how Rensselaer, with its clinical accomplices, is changing the Healthcare worldview by utilizing forefront innovations such 3D printing, and growing new imaging apparatuses with an objective to convey a customized treatment methodology, says Deepak Vashishth, CBIS chief. Lets Go International
Lets Go International As you read this, Im beginning a journey of epic proportions. Im traveling to Spain by myself for 11 days. While my parents are complete wrecks about the whole thing, I couldnt be more excited to travel on my own- it just allows more opportunities to do what I want to do, go with the flow, and meet new people. So this meet new people part- weve all seen it in the movies- The Holiday, Midnight in Paris, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Yes, I went there,) but does it really happen?? Is an international romance really possible? Now to get it straight, I am NOT traveling across the world in hopes to find a Spanish suitor who feeds me tapas and teaches me flamenco. But that would be fun right? So what I want to know is- have you had a Roman Holiday? Are you Ross and did you meet an Emily? And if so, did you just leave it behind or bring those foreign feelings home with you? Ive had an international romance before, but I was the local. And when emotions came into play, it got complicated and difficult. Im just too realistic maybe. So on this adventure abroad, Im just going to embrace it all. Im doing this for myself (something that everyone should do!) and just going to have the time of my life. So let me hear about these affairs abroad! This could be fun. Lets talk Happy Thursday yall!
